In 2022 I participated in my 1st Dolphin Challenge Cancer with Team Hurricanes-Mack Cycle. What a great experience. The event is well organized with lots of resources for participants. I was surprised how easy it was to fundraise, as well as the positive reaction from my family & friends when they learned I would be participating. The ride support,from my Team Captain, Mack Cycle were outstanding. To cap it off the festival at the end of the ride was Class A. Plenty of food, drinks and activities to celebrate a great ride. I will be back every year to fundraise for a great cause while riding with an amazing group of people!

13x 100 Mile Finisher. Every DCC with Mack Cycle since Day 1!

I'll never forget an elbow to the gut from my wife at a Dolphins game in 2010. She wanted me to see the jumbotron for the 1st ever DCC to benefit the University of Miami Sylvester cancer center. A few days before, I had learned of my mom’s cancer diagnosis and struggled to find a way to show her support. With my wife's encouragement, I signed up to ride!  I didn’t own a bike, let alone have any experience riding a bike on the road. I was terrified. I knew what my mom was about to endure was far more terrifying. After completing the ride (barely) I was hooked! I've completed every ride since. Though I live in Orlando, I feel so connected to my Mack Cycling Fam, Love, Cousin Shaun

100 Mile Finisher & Heavy Hitter (Raised over 3K) 

I rode my first DCC back in 2021, when I first started cycling. That year I rode the 35 mile route and was amazed at the team camaraderie and support! After that ride I decided as long as I can ride my bike, I’ll be riding DCC. This past year I rode my first century and cried when I reached the finish line - not only out of pride that I rode my first 100mi, but that I did so in honor of my mom, who I lost to breast cancer. My mom received treatment at Sylvester and it means the world to me that we can give back in this way. This event is special - so here’s to my 3rd DCC and 2nd century in 2023!
